1. What information we collect
It depends which part of the site you use:
- Contact form: name, email, phone number, company and message. Your IP address and browser details are recorded alongside it so we can tell automated bulk submissions apart from real ones.
- Newsletter: email address and IP address at the moment you subscribe.
- Cost calculator: if you ask us to discuss an estimate, name, email, phone number, company and IP address. Simply answering the calculator's three questions records nothing about you.
- Blog comments: name, email and IP address.
- Visit statistics: the page path, the language, and the page you arrived from. Instead of your IP address we store a hashed identifier built from your IP and browser that changes every day; no raw address is kept, and your visits on two different days cannot be joined together.
- Google Analytics: this site uses Google Analytics. The page you are on, the page you arrived from, your device and browser details, and an approximate location derived from your IP address are sent to Google. That data is held on Google's servers rather than ours. Beyond page views, a few interaction events are recorded too: clicks on a contact channel (phone, email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram) and a contact form submission that went through. These events carry the channel name and the page path only -- no message text and no form field value is sent to Google.
- During a project: only the technical information required to deliver that project, with access limited to the relevant team.
2. Why we collect it
To respond to inquiries, deliver contracted services, and improve support quality. IP addresses and browser details are kept only to stop automated form abuse, not to identify you. Your information is never sold or rented to third parties for advertising purposes.
3. Data retention
Contact form messages and calculator enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after the last interaction. A newsletter address is kept until you unsubscribe, and every email carries the link to do it. Project technical data is deleted or returned after contract completion, per client agreement. The visit statistics kept on our own server are deleted automatically after 180 days. Data sent to Google Analytics is retained for 14 months, per that service's own setting.
4. Cookies
One session cookie (karahub_sess) is required for forms and panel sign-in to work, and holds nothing about you. The KaraHub website does not use advertising tracking cookies. The visit statistics described in clause 1 are recorded on our own server and set no cookie. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) so it can tell repeat visits from one browser apart. You can block them in your browser if you would rather not; the site works fully without them.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time via the contact form.
